Stream setup

Free online tools for streamers

Check the camera, crop a thumbnail and read overlay colors before you go live on Twitch, YouTube or Kick. These are pre-stream checks. They do not replace OBS.

Camera, microphone and images stay in this browser. Nothing from these tools is uploaded.

Before you go live

See the camera, hear the mic, and check the monitor and the browser window.

Webcam test

Open the camera and confirm the picture before OBS starts.

Needs permission and HTTPS. This preview is not your stream output.

Microphone test

Watch the input level move when you talk.

A level meter only. It does not apply noise removal or the filters you use in OBS.

Talk after you start. The bar should move.

Screen resolution

Read the monitor size and the pixel density the browser reports.

This is the display, not the canvas size you set in OBS.

Reading the display…

Browser window size

Read the outer window and the inner page, and watch both change as you resize.

Useful for a browser source. It is not the size of a captured game.

Reading the window…

Layout width check

Preview a graphic inside 1920, 1366, 768 and 375 pixel frames.

Other sites cannot be loaded in the frame. Use your own image or the sample layout.

Shown at 40% so the 1920×1080 frame fits this column.

Thumbnails and overlays

Crop, resize and recolor graphics without sending the file anywhere.

Crop an image

Frame a still for 16:9, 4:3, 1:1 or 2:3 and download the crop.

The file never leaves the browser.

Thumbnail resize

Fit a picture to 1280×720 or 1920×1080.

Cover crops the edges. Contain adds bars in the color you pick.

PNG to JPG

Turn a PNG into a smaller JPG for a thumbnail upload.

JPG has no transparency. Pick a background color first.

JPG to PNG

Save a JPG as PNG when an overlay tool asks for that format.

This does not invent transparency. The pixels stay opaque.

Text to image

Draw a short label on a colored background and download a PNG.

A label for a starting-soon screen, not a finished thumbnail design.

Color picker

Click a pixel on an uploaded image and copy its HEX and RGB.

It reads the file you open here, not a color elsewhere on your desktop.

HEX and RGB

Convert an overlay color between HEX and RGB.

One color at a time. It does not match a brand palette for you.

Text contrast

Check whether overlay text stays readable on its background.

The score follows the WCAG contrast formula for the two colors you enter.

On stream

Plan the bitrate, run a starting-soon timer, and draw a name from chat.

Bitrate calculator

Estimate a video bitrate from resolution and frame rate, then compare it with your upload.

It does not measure your connection. The Twitch figure is capped at 6000 kbps.

Video for Twitch
6000 kbps
Video without the Twitch cap
6000 kbps
Plus 160 kbps audio
6160 kbps
75% of the upload you typed
7500 kbps

The Twitch total fits inside 75% of the upload you typed. This is still not a speed test.

Starting soon timer

Run a countdown, then open it full screen for a browser source or a second monitor.

The timer lives in this tab. It is not synced to Twitch. Escape leaves full screen.

Random name draw

Paste a list and draw one name for a chat giveaway.

The list is what you paste. Chat is not read from Twitch.
